A cold snap forced us back to the wood pile, heat pumps flared again and I put on another set of socks. Spring was here and winter returned in a flash. I tried out the new spring menu at Jacks Point (yum) and headed up a never before driven path to discover a lake and a business venture thriving. Reminding me to stay curious and never assume what this town has to offer.
I finished a piece on the amazing Ed Cruikshank making beautiful furniture. You can read about it here Or visit him in his gorgeous shop in Arrowtown.
I went on the hunt for new roads and reminded myself to stay curious. There are still some places I’ve never been, even after nearly 9 years of living here.
Jacks Point is a gorgeous wee drive out of Queenstown. Their new Spring menu has just sprung and I jumped at the chance to go and try it with some friends. You can read about it here
I had the Merino Spring Lamb which was. of course, delicious. The twice cooked chips are to die for! You won’t be able to resist. And if you do, you’re a better woman/ man than me.
My car blew up, well, it didn’t make any noise but I think that’s not a good sign. I spent the rest of the week running to all my appointments. So yes, I’m exhausted and am allowed extra cake on friday night.
Sunday was a long run, coffee and papers. The best Sundays are like this. Enjoy the week people. And don’t forget the cake.
