A couple of seconds walk from the start of the Frankton Track<\/span><\/a> (one of Queenstown’s best easy walking tracks) is Lakehouse Joela. Set back amongst the trees, Lake Wakatipu in all it’s beautiful glory, Lakehouse Joela is one of Relax It’s Done<\/span><\/a>‘s jewel in the crown.<\/p>\n

Architecturally mind boggling, this ’tilt shift’ house was built (and I don’t really know my architectural terms but I know what I like) to take in the lake and all it’s surrounds in one fell swoop. You can see The Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Queenstown and still feel like you’re hidden away in the hills. I stepped up the plate for the next instalment in my collaboration<\/span><\/a> and spent the night here so you lovely lot could peak inside (and stay yourself).<\/p>\n

A beautiful five bedroom (all with ensuite) three level house I literally lost my marbles when I walked into the front door. Art takes a massive place in this beautiful home and it’s everywhere. Wander the corridors and there’s something new from huge animal skulls hung on the walls to Pacifica inspired masterpieces. I could have sat for days on end just looking at the walls. But I’m too nosey for that so wandered the corridors instead.<\/p>\n

On the lower floor sauna, hot tub (to literally fit a small town) and three of the bedrooms (all with ensuite) are decorated to smooth simple perfection. I absolutely loved the different lights in each room and couldn’t decide on my favourite. Beds can all be made into singles and there’s a perfect already-to-go room for the kids with space for a cot if need be.<\/p>\n

There are three massive tubs in this property too. Three. And they’re heavenly (I know, I soaked til I was pruney). So you could, if you were lucky and stayed long enough, soak in all of them. You’d just have to ask the other guests. But they wouldn’t mind now would they?<\/p>\n

An upper tv\/ relaxing lounge for all that reading you’re going to be doing in your lovely weekend away and a tv\/ all the channels you could dream of situation to keep you entertained.<\/p>\n

On the main floor an outdoor bbq and fire and with a view overlooking The Remarkables and Cecil Peak there’s absolutely no excuses for not sitting outside with your G&T and taking it all in. The night sky was marvellous.<\/p>\n

Getting married? The absolutely perfect place to have the night before or week after. Girls weekend away is also sorted as there’s trails a plenty to bike, hike or meander<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Relax It’s Done<\/a>\u00a0(luxury holiday home rentals)<\/span><\/span> are also integral to your stay here. Need food and drink available for when you arrive? They can sort it. Need an in-house chef ready and waiting to cook up your favourite Duck a La Orange? They can sort that too. Everything catered for and nothing left for you to think about other than which bikini you’re going to wear in the hot tub.<\/p>\n

The evening we stayed there Queenstown’s sunset brigade put on an absolute stonker of a show (see the time-lapse on my Instagram<\/span><\/a>). You’re positioned perfectly to watch the sun go down and see the sun rise up again against The Remarkables.<\/p>\n

On arrival there was a delicious cheeseboard and some of the hugest strawberries I’ve ever encountered. A fully stocked kitchen with everything you could need for your stay an the most decadent area to entertain and have dinner together.<\/p>\n

The ‘main’ bedroom on the first floor has a huge tub where you can sit and watch the jet boats roll past in all your glory (there are shades to be discreet). It’s such a wonderful place to feel secluded and also so near to wander into town to be part of the action. A mere fifteen minute walk into town and you have access to all the food, drink and ice-cream anyone could wish for.<\/p>\n

The night got a little chilly whilst there and boom just like that the gorgeous in-house fire provided us with warmth over our hot chocolates. A beautiful sunset and everything was quiet. Time to sit, ponder and just look at the view.<\/p>\n
