The blogging world is a crazy one and sometimes it blows me away with some of the stuff I get up to. I recently heard from Philip and Anne who were planning on having a tiny wedding here in Queenstown and wanted something a little bit different.

I have recently purchased a new camera and am stumbling around trying to work out what I’m doing. I’ve always loved the art of the photography but wouldn’t consider myself a photographer. ‘Snapper’ to be more precise (we even have a club you can join!) I find learning something new hard and frustrating but I love finding new ways to use the Sony A6300 and the many things to snap here in this beautiful country. With that in mind Philip asked if I would be willing to join them on their wedding day and use them as a project to practice? Go up in a helicopter and laugh lots? I was in!

We met on a stunningly beautiful Spring day and I set about snapping some of their day. They got ready at their accommodation and then we headed out to Over the Top Helicopters in Frankton for a ride up into Mount Crichton and in particular Lake Isobel.

Cold and clear the six of us (bride and groom, best man and bridesmaid and celebrant) wandered around the top until we found a place perfect for the ceremony. Philippa then set about her task of joining the two love birds in matrimony!

Here are some of my snaps of their special day. What an honour to be involved and congratulations Philip and Anne!
