Queenstown has been lacking in something for a while. Being from the UK I looked forward to my ‘chippy do’ on a Friday night. Fish and Chips disappeared from here for a while until one day a shiny beacon of light appeared called ‘Erik’s’<\/a> and we were saved once more. Succulent fish, a massive list of all things ‘chip’ and some essentials on the menu; lightly fried Kiwi fruit for a starter. I know I know. Heaven.<\/p>\n

Good ol’ fish n chips<\/p><\/div>\n

I ambled down to Earl Street (one of my favourite hidden gems in this wee town) and settled into fish and chip heaven. Kumara wedges, Hoki and deep friend pineapple (yes!) covered in a light dusting of cinnamon and I was set. The best bit? Fried red onion chunks. Hot, sweet, delicious.<\/p>\n

The family Arndt also has a great deal to do with what’s happening there. I met all of them, all together, meeting for lunch one sunny day. Supportive, loyal and oh-so-in love with what Erik and Anna are doing here. They also all get to be chief tasters of new dishes; mushy peas (I love), hot dogs (completely and totally gorgeous and full of flavour), the deep fried fruits ( a big winner in my book) and all looking forward to the Winter season.<\/p>\n

Another amazing thing about this lot is you don’t have to queue in the cold. There’s an online app too. I told you…heaven. Just click what you need and you’re away! Go here<\/a> to check it out. Want Hoki, Moki or a family deal? Kumara wedges and a little tomato sauce to go with it? Sorted.<\/p>\n

And for all my-body-can’t-cope-with-gluten they sort that out too. \u00a0The food can be gluten free and there is a special area to prepare it. Love it.<\/p>\n

Delivered right to your door without you having to step foot outside. But they’re also in the most beautiful destination, 100m from the beach! Fish, chips, beach. Done. And a cup of tea with it would make it perfect. Just me…..?<\/p>\n
