So, yes, I bang on about The Sherwood. I’ve eaten, worked, drank cocktails, listened to music and then, then I got to stay. To wander over to my room. To nestle in the perfect white sheets. To wake up and know I didn’t have to drive to get there. (I Iive about 3 minutes drive from the place).

Lucky? I wouldn’t call it lucky. Well, actually maybe I would. And I loved it.

Created out of the original Sherwood Manor, this place has had a complete revamp of restaurant, tepee, veggie patch, mountain bike jump park (yes really) and accommodation. You can read about eating here, recipes here and now I finally got to nestle in it’s warm walls for the evening.

Beautifully simple, all you could need, recycled, sustainable goodness was what met me on the turn of the key.

They’re clever these guys. A room with everything you need and nothing you don’t. Comfy beds….check, Hot showers….check, simple kitchen with all you need to make a decent meal…..check. Radiators……I nearly peed. (I’m from the UK. I haven’t seen a radiator in YEARS). All wrapped up in a deliciously lit (bare bulbs never looked so sexy), view of the century (have you seen Lake Wakatipu lately?) I literally skipped to bed. And a little treat waiting were some bubbles for me to guzzle. Lucky? Just call me Princess.

There’s so much good stuff going on here they even explain what they’ve done to the place in their notes in the room. Madonna gets a mention, as does ‘we haven’t painted the place so we can spend more money on solar panels.’ Head here for information goodness, here for Facebook goodness and here for Instagram goodness. It’s all goodness.

I recommend the twice cooked potatoes too. And I won’t be held responsible for your addiction.

The Sherwood So, yes, I bang on about The Sherwood.
Could they be any more awesome? Probably and there’s probably something of the place I haven’t yet discovered. But I will damn it. I will.
