I got a call on Wednesday from beautiful Cath (One Fine Day<\/a>\u00a0Collection) asking if I wanted to go to a wedding. I felt like saying “why Cath, we’ve not even been on a date yet” but I probed further and discovered these two<\/a> were in town.<\/p>\n

Travelling around the world for the past 3.5 years ‘2 People 1 Life’ have been getting ‘married’ according to the customs and country they are in until they reach a decision as to where is the best place to finally say ” I do”.<\/p>\n

Queenstown will be their 67th time. I quickly washed my face slung on my best party dress and boarded the gorgeous Southern Discoveries<\/a> boat to Mt Nicholas Station<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We’re on a boat!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"2<\/a><\/p>\n

Alex and Lisa set off from Manchester 3.5 years ago (I feel at home with the pair already) after selling their possessions to travel the world and they’ve been living in a camper van ever since. Travelling, wedding-ing, immersing themselves in the culture of the land, meeting and making new friends at every turn. I can’t help but think – smart cookies.<\/p>\n

Mount Nicholas Station is further along than Walter and a new one for me. Wispy clouds in the sky, the sunlight hitting the side of the barn where the after party was to be held, I looked at these two and the excitement was still in their eyes, still apparent after all these years. The nerves still set in as we got ready for the ceremony. Taking our seats we experienced a traditional Maori welcome and blessing performed by Joe Cowie alongside the wedding celebrant Kathryn Ormond<\/a> who declared them ‘2 people 1 life’.<\/p>\n

In such a short space of time I had connected with an amazing bunch of creatives who brought this day to be and two people who were having the time of their lives.<\/p>\n

Contacted by Emily Adamson <\/a>back in 2011 with the holler “if you’re ever here, get in touch” and they did. Aren’t we lucky. Clever Emily. I felt so lucky to 1) be a part of the journey and 2) finally meeting some of the amazing people involved in the day who I’ve often chatted to on social media but never put faces to names. Emily Adamson, One Fine Day, Cup and Cake<\/a>, Humdrum Films<\/a>, Nemo Workroom<\/a>, Road to beauty,<\/a> The Vase Fresh Flowers<\/a>, The Amazing Travelling Photo Booth<\/a>, Southern Discoveries to name but a few.<\/p>\n

There was cake (I wouldn’t have been there without it) and amazing sausages and apple on sticks made by the groom himself. Alex did ask later in the evening if we had enjoyed them. Slightly perturbed that he didn’t actually get to sample them himself I reckon. He’s the groom, he doesn’t get to eat aswell.<\/p>\n

Lisa and Alex made us feel so welcome. Almost as though we had known each other for years. If they knew me that well they probably wouldn’t have invited me. I ate all the BBP (bread based products) before the others got the chance. (When they shout “buffet open” at weddings I’m first.) but it all felt so calm, real and just, well, lovely.<\/p>\n

We headed back in the dark, the rain in Queenstown (that we were unaware of) had dissipated and we were all sleepy. Hugs and kisses and shouts of ‘thank you’ rang out through the air. Same again next week anyone?<\/p>\n
