Another great way of getting around Christchurch on a trusty two wheeler is with Radler Bike Tours.
One, they show you all the secret sneaky little trails around the city, two, you get to wear an ear piece and hear Nick (owner) point out great little titbits about the city and look like James Bond in the process and three, you also drink beer. Nope not while you’re riding (that would be completely silly) but during the ride where you stop off at three drinking holes that supply some of the best craft beer this side of the equator. (I like beer so believe me).
Christchurch post earthquake is now a bubbling hive of bars, eateries, sights, art, culture, shopping and particularly amazing to see by bike. As it’s so flat you can breeze down the windy lanes (in newly appointed shiny bike lanes no less) and experience all the city has to offer without breaking a sweat. And if you do break a sweat you can have a cold beer to compensate.

Our group of nine easily wound our way through the city without a worry about level of skill or speed. Everyone gets there in the end.
