I recently visited Christchurch and was blown away by how much things have changed. Yes the city is still in need of some love but there’s a vibe there that is hubble bubble toil and trouble. New shops, cafes, great food, art, business, tech. Here’s some of the places I visited and some of the must do’s to do.

To eat:

Sals NY Pizza was a just needed carbohydrate injection when I arrived in the city. Located 146 Litchfield Street, Christchurch. Massive slices of pizza with so much CHEESE. Satiated and happy.

Pot Sticker Dumplings in two locations -The Columbo and Lichfield Street So delicious and don’t stop at two!

I could have been in New York Y’all

To lounge:

I headed out in my trusty Mini ‘Norman’ from Touchdown Car Rentals and shot over to Sumner Beach. Breathe deep people! It was a stunner of a day and the wind and water were perfect! There were dogs, people a loungin’ and it felt like Summer was on it’s way!

Down a street (Sumner) I found a little path leading to mountain bike and running trails a plenty! Heading up up and more up and I could see the sea! It was glorious and warm and time for some more food!

To shop:

On the way out of town I drove over to The Tannery as I’d heard good things. Small but mighty shops a plenty including some of my favourite from Instagram. Hapa for all things lovely, Kilt Clothing for all your New Zealand made clothing needs, Teepee and more design stores than you could shake a shaky stick at.

The Columbo was also somewhere I’d heard holler to me on Instagram and so I headed over to stuff my face full of Pot Sticker Dumplings, lovely things to buy from Abode and bags a plenty from Stencil.

To grow your mind:

Another reason for Christchurch is a project I’m working on (shhhh) and I popped into The amazing Ministry of Awesome to use their meeting space. A wonderful organisation committed to bringing ideas and people together.
