I got to know Greg Straight at a wedding some years ago. I think I may have shouted “you’re that amazing graphics dude” before necking some more bourbon and coke….but that’s another story. Greg‘s artwork and prints shout life and colour and I absolutely love how he captures New Zealand so well. Food, the day to day, beach life and communities are captured in his gorgeous drawings and design.
A few years ago I took a simple picture (and then jazzed it up as I loved editing in those days) in the town of Glenorchy, a place I love for it’s kiwiness, outdoor life and also amazing images of every day to snap. There’s so much there that is quirky and not just about the mountains. The mountains also rock your socks off though don’t get me wrong! Greg contacted me and said he’d love to share the image through his work and would that be ok?
Ok? Ok? You’d better bloody believe it’d be ok Greg Straight! I’d be honoured.
He recently sent me his design and I nearly fell off my chair. Such a beautiful interpretation of my picture but also what’s in his head, he’s pretty clever that Greg guy. There’s also another of the ski fields which is so beautiful and makes me want to go and shred some powder. If I didn’t have a baby on the way I’d be there!
I have one of each design to competition off and I’d love you to win. Open to Queenstown and Wanaka only.

This is a gorgeous way to collaborate with two different mediums and such a lovely thing to do. I love these projects the best and would love to talk to other businesses about how we can work together!
