My Queenstown Life week in pictures My mum arrives in T-1 day and I’m frantically cleaning the house. Do you think she’ll know I’m living on a diet of gin and cakes? She follows this blog so I’m thinking yes. I’m in big trouble when she gets here.

Got me to pondering life of living away from family. My family is millions of miles away and so I’ve had to cobble together another family here. There’s alot of  ‘orphans’ in my family with a few New Zealanders in there for good measure. I love them all equally (well the ones who feed me a little bit more) but I also am torn between the home here and ‘there’. Many of you will be nodding your heads. It’s tough out there chaps. Don’t feel guilty, we’re making lives for ourselves in other ways and they will understand. Eventually. But send a postcard every once in a while. Especially on Valentines.

I have a tradition of sending my niece a card every year. Signed with a ? She knows it’s me, but I like the tradition and also the fact that she knows I love her and haven’t forgotten she’s miles away growing into a good woman of the future. Start a tradition with your family. Do it now.

In other news, I ate some bloody good icecream on Wednesday. It was coconut my favourite so I couldn’t resist. Then I went and had cake too and a glass of wine. My diet is BRILLIANT.

I finally got the gorgeous Colleen Pugh of Dear Colleen on the blog. An amazing artist originally from the UK and now residing with her new husband (awwww) in Dunedin. I am slowly grabbing things further afield to show off to you because one day you’ll leave and you might head there! Read about here here.

I finally (and I say finally because I’m totally blind and couldn’t find it) found the new sculpture that arrived in Queenstown. Welcome ‘Vessel’, I think you’re beautiful and give me something to look and dream of a day when I can have you in my garden. Go see. She’s just at the end of the Steamer Wharf near Atlas.

My Queenstown Life week in pictures My Queenstown Life week in pictures It was also a small usually quiet Saturday apart from the fact it was Valentines and I received the most beautiful bunch of flowers delivered to my door from The Vase Fresh Flowers and Foliage. The beautiful Gypsy West creates amazing bouquets for all. Story to come.
