Flowers and beautiful cakes!

When I heard about an event over in Wanaka that included cakes, fashion and Trelise Cooper I went on my merry way to find out where I could get a ticket from. The gorgeous Celia at Scope Media was covering the event and so I hopped on board.

I love it when fundraisers are creative and provide not only food for thought with such a worthy cause (Upper Clutha Hospice Trust) but also provide a creative outlet for us rural types who don’t always get to see the glamour and glitz of city life and with such an amazing creative the like Trelise.

The absolutely gorgeous Glendhu Woolshed provided the backdrop for 2 events on the 30th September, a matinee and an evening performance. Showcasing the best of Trelise’s different lines (Coop, for the younger audience) Cooper (fun, flirty and full of colour) and Trellis Cooper (glamour, delicate and oozing taste). We were first greeted with a large array of cakes and tea (you can imagine my joy) and I couldn’t help but squeal at how much effort every lady in there had put in to their outfits.

Begin!

The idea of Lucy Lucas of boutique store Escape Clothing to raise money for a much needed hospice in the area. I was blown away by what the community had provided for this event to go on. Flowers, goodie bags, Trelise herself, a gorgeous runway stocked full of the newest designs from the 3 collections and people, people, people. Managing to raise $40,000 is no mean feat and this event should be seen, gobbled up and be used on every fundraisers agenda as to what you can do when you get your thinking caps on.

A wonderful success!
